1> Implementing Link Layer in SW
2> Implementing Link Layer in HW.

Which one is a better approach 1> Implementing Link Layer in SW 2> Implementing Link Layer in HW. Better one is implementing link layer in HW, first advantage is it will be faster than the second approach as CPU will take more time to execute the instruction. Secondly, it will let CPU to go into sleep or do any other work till the hardware is performing the link layer work. |
